Following the signing of documents, and exchanging goodbyes with Amelia, we still had a few more things left to do!
First, we had a few shots taken on the railroad tracks outside of the botanical gardens, then we headed to Kerry Park to shoot our last official portraits.
Afterward, we set off for the upscale eatery, Canlis, where we rented a private room overlooking Lake Union, and enjoyed the most delicious (and expensive) dinner of our lives, all while blasting rap from a Spotify playlist on the room’s sound system. (It goes without saying that we were the talk of the staff!)
Our steaks were the stars of the show!
The next morning began by taking the scenic route (via Deception Pass) to our honeymoon location on San Juan Island.

We spent a few hours on the water, and arrived in Friday Harbor before noon. Our room wasn’t yet ready when we got there, which was okay by us, because the only thing we wanted to do was eat!
We were ravenous after being unable to eat much the previous day, and rushed to grab an early lunch at the the first restaurant we stumbled upon. A delicious throwback to our days in Georgia 😉
Satisfied and momentarily reenergized, we set off to explore the streets and a few of the shops downtown. Our favorites included an awesome little antique shop, where we saw (and obviously purchased) vintage Fiesta for our collection, as well as the abundance of bookstores to satisfy our bibliophilia.
We stopped at The Whale Museum for a quick visit after that, and in the quiet, dimly lit rooms, became aware of our tiredness from the morning’s travel and yesterday’s excitement.
With that, we sauntered on up to our hotel. There would be time for adventures later, but for now, it was time for rest.
