It was WAY LESS HARD to be grateful in April. I really struggled in March — I mean, the rain was just ridiculous — but April? April was like, the best month ever. Little rain, tons of sunshine, and warm temperatures was a real treat, and we took advantage of the amazing weather at every chance we got.
We logged many miles on the trails, and many hours basking in the beauty of some of Washington’s most scenic locales.
We definitely spent our fair share of time driving, in diners, in the tent, in the wind, and resting our tired legs, too 😉
I’m so thankful everyday that I have found a place where I know in my soul that I belong, and everyday I wake up as one of the luckiest people on planet Earth who gets to enjoy it all with her best friend, who by some miracle she happens to be married to. I say it so much that I feel like it’s becoming annoying, but I’m just so happy. All I know is that I want to pass on the feeling even more than ever.
Just like in our personal life, our professional lives have been coming along pretty nicely, too. Alex is finally back at Woot after spending three weeks on another team helping to fix their code. During the time he spent working with the other team, he also became the first person in our family to go curling:
As for me, I have really enjoyed my time teaching, and I think I’ve enjoyed talking about my research, and even doing research a little too much. I feel more excited and passionate about what I do everyday, and I’m especially excited about an in-the-works camping quest we’ll be doing this summer, which is just fueling this love of ecotherapy I haven’t been able to shake since we moved to Washington.
While we had last month all planned out, I think we’re just going to wing our tenth month of marriage. I mean, I know how that went the last time we did it, but we’re going to roll with what feels right for now. We’ll be out and about again tomorrow on the road and on the trails, and knowing us, we’ll do some more of that, and maybe even get a little camping done this month, too. I have a feeling it’s going to be a good one.
See you in June!
